The shapes are arranged to wrap naturally around curved surfaces, maintaining the chaotic, multi‑layered look that made the original pattern so distinctive.

Each stencil sheet is cut from premium Hi‑Bake vinyl rated for Cerakote curing temperatures up to 360°F. The adhesive is engineered for clean removal without tearing or stretching, ensuring crisp edges even on multi‑layer paint jobs. These stencils are single‑use for maximum precision. While optimized for Cerakote, they also perform reliably with Duracoat, Gunkote, and other spray‑on firearm coatings.

Origins of the Pattern

The TAZ 83 camouflage pattern, also known as “Alpenflage,” was introduced by Switzerland during the late 20th century and became one of the most recognizable European camouflage systems ever fielded. Its design features a complex mix of organic blotches, leaf‑shaped forms, and high‑contrast overlays intended to blend effectively in alpine forests, rocky terrain, and mixed vegetation.

Unlike simpler two‑ or three‑color patterns of the same era, TAZ 83 embraced a layered, almost chaotic structure that created depth and visual disruption at multiple distances.
