Give your Cerakote projects the clean, classic look of U.S. three‑color desert camouflage with this precision‑cut vinyl stencil pack inspired by the DCU (Desert Camouflage Uniform) pattern. This design features broad organic shapes, soft desert curves, and layered breakup zones that create a smooth, arid‑environment texture ideal for rifles, pistols, magazines, and tactical gear.

These stencil packs are printed on Hi‑Bake vinyl rated up to 360°F, making them perfect for Cerakote ovens and high‑temperature curing cycles. They are designed for Cerakote applications, but also work flawlessly with Gunkote, Duracoat, Krylon, and other spray‑on firearm finishes. All stencil packs are single‑use and not reusable.

Each sheet is cut from premium 10×15 heat‑resistant vinyl and engineered specifically for firearm coatings, airbrushing, and custom finishing work. All artwork is originally designed in‑house, ensuring clean edges, consistent spacing, and reliable adhesion during spraying.

 

Origins of the Pattern

The DCU (Desert Camouflage Uniform) pattern—commonly known as three‑color desert—was introduced by the United States military in the early 1990s as a replacement for the six‑color “Chocolate Chip” design. It used tan, brown, and light beige shapes arranged in flowing, organic layers to provide effective concealment in sandy, rocky, and open desert environments.

The pattern saw extensive use during the Gulf War, Iraq War, and numerous deployments throughout the Middle East and Southwest Asia. Its simple, versatile structure made it one of the most recognizable desert camouflage patterns of the modern era.

This stencil pack is inspired by the structure and visual style of the original DCU pattern, recreated as original artwork suitable for Cerakote and custom finishing applications.
